Kalafina Club 33

- datte shouganai janai [but still it can’t be helped can it, by Wada Akiko. K wins right off the bat!

- yesterday was Valentine’s Day. W says it’s good for the people who got chocolates, K asks what’s with her indifferent attitude, W answers that in Japan it’s usually girls who give chocolates to guys. Kalafina got some tomo [friend] choco presents from girls, K was happy that it was from girls (oi…ww). W says it’s a good chance to give tomo choco to girls you like/respect. K remembers that Kajiura-san once gave chocolates to them, it was mint flavoured, a little expensive, grownup-like. The kind of chocolate a person chooses shows their personality. K says that recently chocolate eaten with a spoon is becoming popular. It’s a little expensive, comes with a spoon, is softer than chocolate but harder than chocolate mousse. It’s the type of thing girls would like, maybe not guys.

Magia will be released tomorrow so today will be a Magia special!

- Magia is latin, meaning magic. This song was new for them in many ways

- The song itself has a magical feel to it. The introduction melody is strong and dark. The song is about ones desires and is very realistic. People should feel something strong from the song, which is multiplied by the realistic parts. W thinks this song will reach everyone’s heart like magic. K says it’s impression is dark and it’s about people’s simmering desires and feelings coming out from inside, so it was easy to put emotion into it when they were recording it.

- The guitar and drums give a feeling of something is starting [direct trans would be unsheathing a sword… doesn’t sound right?]. Before the chorus the guitar always plays which really helps hype up their mood. The lyrics during the chorus is like they are screaming.

- H says the song is quite up tempo, and she tried to sing each word with care in order to communicate the realistic lyrics. Before she thought she should sing in a shouting style but then it turned out that was a little off the mark. K says H sang with many changing emotions, so it was really difficult for W to have to express many different emotions by singing. The lyrics talk about a human’s hesitation, the part which K sings brings in the light of a past when the character’s heart was purer and is a more quiet verse, sounding very realistic. The paradox of hesitation and what the character wants to believe is really highlighted, very human.

- in the PV, K says they’ve probably never worn such cool outfits before. Before it was more chic but now it’s a more original style. W wonders how much the length of their skirts changed from Kagayaku Sora.  H had this huge padding on her shoulder which had a really big presence, then there were loads of other decorations. H had a miniskirt with a long skirt underneath, giving a feeling of “ah do I see it or do I not?” W says everyone’s hair looked really cool, H’s hair was braided. K’s was cut really short and K thought she looked like Cleopatra. They had rhinestones in their hair and they sparkled.

- they took part in machiasobi vol. 5. When they got to the train station there were already people looking at maps and wondering which shops to go to, it was really an event that involved the whole city.

- they were the train station master for one day, working diligently and not cosplaying! They did a station broadcast, reading from the sheet of paper. It was a proper broadcast about the costs of tickets to different destinations, they were very nervous because they couldn’t say anything wrong. Also, the ticket office where they do the broadcast has a glass window, the crowd can see inside so it was hard on their concentration to. One person did trip on her words, W, but there is a reason. A person really came to ask about tickets and she didn’t know what to do so she paused. They also gave the train departure signal with Yoshida-san.

- they sang all the Kara no Kyoukai theme songs, as well as Magia and Hikari no Senritsu, and the cover of the KnK epilogues theme song “snow falling”. It was the first time they performed that song, and they did it outdoors. They sang in the sun, then the setting sun, then in twilight. At the end of that sequence they sang “snow falling”, it was already evening. Since they sang snow falling after seventh heaven, it began with a sparkling sort of feeling. W was also wondering what everyone would think of the song, when singing the first phrase “the white snow…” her mind was about to turn blank white as well. When singing that song she felt really warm, afterwards when she was back in the tent only her hands were cold.

More Tokushima talk from H because she didn’t talk much: they ate Tokushima Burger [uses local ingredients, gets official approval], which has a chicken and beef version. H likes chicken but it was a little spicy which was a shame for her. The beef one tasted more like steak than hamburger. Unfortunately there were tomatoes in it which H doesn’t like. They had Tokushima Ramen. The particular shop they went had the soup in pork bone soy sauce flavour. The noodles were straight and slightly thick. The meat was pork ribs instead cha siu. There are free raw eggs to put in the ramen.

Woke up from the scariest dream ever. And I wasn’t even being chased or killed or anything. It was just so so so so weirdly deja vu but the setting was really weird. Like I knew the people in it but they were totally different. It was so creepy I couldn’t go back to sleep afterward.

Hi! I wonder if you can share with us on where you get the earlier radio progams for Kalafina club? Like from Kalafina Club 34 onwards to current . Thanks!

I get them from fictionjunction.org, it would help if you could read Chinese… and if I remember I download them straight off the bayfm site using GetASF. I will be uploading them to my mediafire account in the near future (like next week, I just have to do it at school because my internet at home is trashy and cannot upload anything).
